Declaration of Independence
By the spring of 1776 , Thomas Paine's ideas written in the book "Common Sense"
had built a momentum, the Continental Congress stated that the thirteen colonies were now free and independent from Great Britain. They selected a committee to declare the independence. The congress declared in July 2, 1776 that now they were independent, but the declaration was approved until July 4, 1776 and that's the date we know as the Day of Independence of the United States. The declaration was drafted by Thomas Jefferson, he wrote the declaration based on Thomas Paine's ideas. The declaration caused many conflicts, because they were contradicting themselves and their beliefs in many ways. Those conflicts later on caused the American Revolutionary War. The declaration was a statement of the human rights: ALL men are created EQUAL. Unalienable Rights:
-Life
-Liberty
-Pursuit of happiness
The Declaration of independence showed grievances against KING GEORGE III:
-For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
-For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
-For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
-For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
-For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury
-For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
-For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
The Second Continetal Congress was a group were representators from the Thirteen colonies that met May 10 1775 in Pennsylvania.
The Second congree managed the colonial war effort and moved on to the independance creatig the United States Declaration Of Independance on the 4th of july 1776. By creating armies, strategys, and making some formal treaties.
With the creation of the Articles of Confederation in 1781 the Congress became as the Congress Of the Confederation.
Before the American Revolution occured, every colony had a militia, except Pennsylvania. Colonies required that men who were in condition owned a weapon, accepted to be go to a periodic training and were willing to defend their home from the attack of any Indian group. They were called the Colonial Milita. The minuteman were a reorganized army which were ready and prepare for war a minute after they were called for war.
The continental army was an invention of the Continental Congress and was commanded by George Washington. Washington found different forces and inmediately he began training them.
In April 19, 1775 the first shot between Americans and British was fired. British had decided to march to Concord because Americans had a stockpiles of weapons in that place. british troops were established in Boston and to march to Concord they had to pass through Lexington. What Broitish didn´t know was that Minutemen were awaiting them hidden beside the trees. No one knows who shot first , but it was called ´´The shot heard around the World´´. Americans had to withdraw because British were winning. Birtish advanced, going to Concord, but forces were waiting them, forcing them to retreat. The one who warned the Colonists about the approach of the British was Paul Revere who shouted ´´The British are coming!!!´´
The daughters of liberty was a colonial american group that was formed by women who displayed their patriotism by participating in boycotts of British goods following the passage of the Townshend Acts.
The Daughters of Liberty used their traditional skills to weave yarn and wool into fabric. They were recognized as patriotic heros for their success to make America less dependent on British textiles.
They openly opposed the Tea Act.
They experimented to find substitutes for taxed goods such as tea and sugar.
They helped end the Stamp Act in 1766. In 1774, the patriot women helped influence a decision made by the Continental Congress to boycott all British goods.
The sons of liberty was a group of american patriots. The group was designed to do a change in the British government's treatment of the Colonies. At the conclusion of the French and Indian War the British Empire found themselves in a mess.It saw the North American colonies as a resource they could exploit to try to get back all that they had lost. After this new acts were created like the stamp act of 1765, the colonists were really mad because of this acts, Boston was one of the cities that could barely pay anything to the crown because they had not enough money. North American colonists from Savannah to Halifax resisted the Stamp Act in 1765, through legislative resolutions. This groups were identifying themselves as the sons of liberty this was in almost every colony. In august 1765 celebrated the founding of the group in Bston. In November 6, a committee was placed in New York to interact with other colonies. The leaders of the sons of liberty were mostly of the middle class. They were speaking out against the actions of the British government, they claimed to be loyal to the Crown. Their goal was to make sure their rights as Englishmen. Throughout the Stamp Act Crisis, the Sons of Liberty professed continued loyalty to the King because they maintained a "fundamental confidence" in the expectation that Parliament would do the right thing and repeal the tax.
No taxation without representation was one of the causes of the american revolution, because as England had a big debt thanks to the war and began to tax the american colonies through everyday products. The colonists without understanding why they were taxed by the parliament, if they didn´t had anyone who represented them in England, began to protest and boycott British products. The Britsh King got mad and sent soldiers to put order in the colonies.
It was a war between English and American colonies against French and some indians of the north. It was commanded by George Washington, and fought around the Ohio River. The French and Indian war was a seven-year-war, which left Britain a big debt.
The French began to built forts in areas that belonged to the British and as well did the British. In 1754, the war started because George Washington was sent to expel the French from Fort Duquesne.
At the beginning French were winning and caused a lot of losses in British troops. In 1756, British began to recover thanks to William Pitt, secretary of state, who gave more resources to the troops. In 1759, British occupy Quebec and then Montreal. The French and Indian war ended in 1763, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, in which France gave all the land west of the Mississippi. The big debt that was left to Britain was one of the causes that led to the American Revolution.

What is the american Revolution?
The American Revolution was a fight between the thirteen american colonies against Great Britain, producing what is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Main causes of the American Revolution
THE STAMP ACT: was passed in 1965 by the parliament because they needed money to pay the troops and the debts that they had, so they created this act which was applyied to some stamp duties. Coloniests, British merchants and manufacturers opposed this act because it made it difficult to trade with colonies.
THE TOWNSHEND ACT: were a series of acts passed in 1767, by the British Parliament which included the Custom act.
THE TEA ACT AND BOSTON TEA PARTY: The Boston Tea Party was produced after the tea tax that was put by the parliament. On December 1773, a group of colonists disguised as indians (for not being recognize)and got into the ships that had the taxed tea, destroying it by throwing them to the sea. This was called THE BOSTON TEA PARTY.
OTHER CAUSES: Other acts were put to the colonists as the Sugar act, Quebec act and Boston Port Bill (Boston´s ports were closed to all ships, until colonists paid to the East Indian Company the damaged caused in the Boston tea party).
